The group is not a fund-raising one; however we are sometimes asked to nominate a charity to receive proceeds from others' events which have made an incidental profit. Consequently we agreed to nominate a "Charity of the Year" each January which we would try to raise awareness of and to which we would direct donations in the year. In 2019 it was The Passage. For several years we have alternated annually between a 'local' good cause and a 'foreign' one. Following an inspiring talk given at Mass in early January by a speaker from Missio, we decided to promote them as our Charity of the Year 2020. In view of the interruption caused by Covid 19 we decided to propose MISSIO for a second year. So now, till December 2021 it is:
